Treatments

Accurate Diagnostics

The first and perhaps most important step towards treatment is the diagnosis. With modern imaging scans (including an arthroscopy, capable of producing clear images in real-time) and a variety of targeted physical tests, your orthopaedic specialist will be able to accurately determine the type and severity of your condition, as well as what the appropriate treatment should be.

Conservative Treatments
First

Many cases of sports injury actually do not require invasive treatments. Your orthopaedic specialist will determine what conservative treatment options may be suitable for you, which may include:

  • R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compress, Elevate)
  • Medications
  • Physiotherapy
  • Joint Injections

The purpose of these non-invasive treatments is essentially to help reduce inflammation, alleviate pain and improve strength and flexibility over time.

Minimally Invasive & Conventional Orthopaedic Surgery

Should conservative methods not yield sufficient results, or need to be supported by more serious interventions, surgery may be considered. At our clinic, we provide specialised expertise in arthroscopic methods which have the following benefits:

  • Smaller incisions
  • Lower risk of complications
  • Faster healing
  • Less visible scarring

Surgery is usually only required to repair severely damaged ligaments and tendons, torn menisci and fractured bones.

Regardless of Method, the Goal Remains –
to Restore Stability, Mobility & Comfort
